Once you build a SharePoint site, have a list created. If you are creating a list from Excel import then you need to be careful about the limitations, because you won’t be able to load more than 5000 records from the excel file during the creation of the list.
After the list is created, you can load as much data as needed, depending on the size. for instance if you have projects’ list information you can grow your list up to 1 million+ records without any issues.
